So, I'm deployed to Afghanistan for a few months. Think that will stop me from baking? Yeah right. Although it has been awhile since I've been able to post, and my posts will probably be fewer and further in between, I am still dedicated to keeping the baking alive!
My remedy to the stress of deployment? A little thing I call "Combat Baking." Out here, supplies are somewhat difficult to come by which just means I will have to get creative. Our plane has a tiny oven on it and that is what I intend to use to bake my creations. (Hopefully the guys on my crew appreciate the hard work I put in.)
I will include notes on where I happened to come across random items for each recipe. I'm sure many of them will include some begging at the Dining Facility or from some Afghans or "commandeering" some abandoned care package goodies, (hey they might as well be put to good use, right?) but I hope you all can take this and use it to your advantage.
So without further ado, and with the help of minimal supplies sent by my partner-in-baking-crimes (my husband), I intend to make this the most interesting experience I can for you all to read.
For college students or just anyone, I want you to know that even if your kitchen isn't "fully stocked" it is possible to make delicious creations! Stay tuned for more posts...
