Since I am off work for another week, I needed a reason to make it. I know that the fact that it's delicious should be reason enough but I really can't trust myself to have an entire Tiramisu in my fridge. Thankfully, my friend Ashley was holding a play date at her house! Now I had a reason to make it and someone to taste test it. :)
Ingredients
6 egg yolks
3/4 c. granulated sugar
2/3 c. milk1 1/4 c. heavy whipping cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. mascarpone cheese (I used two 8oz. containers which I finally located at Frys. It wasn't easy! You can also use ricotta or cottage cheese. Just blend it to an even consistency before you do.)
1/2 c. coffee liqueur
20-24 ladyfinger cookies
1 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
In a medium sauce pan, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until evenly blended.
Whisk in milk and cook on medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils. Boil gently for one minute. (Be careful as mixture will try to overflow.) Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly
Cover tightly and allow to chill in fridge for one hour.

In medium bowl (or stand mixer) beat heavy cream and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
Whisk mascarpone into yolk mixture until an even consistency.

Drizzle ladyfingers with coffee liqueur and line bottom of pan with soaked ladyfingers.
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the coffee liqueur-soaked ladyfingers. Next, spread half of the whipped cream over the mascarpone mixture. Top with remaining ladyfingers and repeat process.
Sprinkle with cocoa powder and try not to sit on the couch with a fork and eat it all while watching Glee. (Or do, I won't judge you!)
Aiden and I had a blast at the play date. I'm also really happy this turned out so good. There was a little left over so I stopped by my work to check my e-mail and let them devour the rest. (I had to give them a fix of something yummy since it's been so long since I made anything for any of those guys! Now they can wait til next Monday.)
I also just kind of gave away that I'm a closet "Gleek." Don't judge me!
Please leave some comments and let me know how this worked out for ya!
